Blues Fest is growing up and we’ve made some changes to our format this year. Whether it’s our ticketing system (Eventbrite – don’t forget to print your tickets or bring them on your smart phone!) or that our Lotta Blues Kickoff on Friday night is free or that we’ve got some new and terrific food vendors this year. Rain or shine, we’re sure to have fun. Read through the FAQs to get most of your questions answered. Have more? Email us at bluesfest@hagerstownmd.org. See you this weekend!

Do I need a ticket to get into the festival on Friday, June 1?
No you don’t! The Friday “Lotta Blues Kickoff” is FREE this year! Tickets purchased through Eventbrite are for Saturday, June 2 only.

Can I buy tickets for Saturday at the gate?
Yes, but why wait? Tickets are $30 in advance. At the gate, the ticket price will be $35!

If Friday is free, why should I buy a ticket for Saturday?
Saturday features 6 bands, all of which are considered headliners! We say make it a Blues weekend in Hagerstown: come for the free show on Friday, enjoy a nightcap at a downtown restaurant Friday night, take a walk on the new Cultural Trail Saturday morning or stop in at our Historic City Farmer’s Market, dance your heart out Saturday afternoon and evening, and finish the night with a great dinner at one of our fabulous downtown restaurants. Sleep in on Sunday and then enjoy a walking tour through historic downtown.

What happened to the Sunday In the Park event?
We’ve consolidated our offerings this year and moved our family activites to our free Friday night event!

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
Please bring your ID if you want to purchase alcohol. If you do not have ID, or are underage, you will not receive a wrist-band that allows you to purchase alcohol. There will be family activities during our free Friday night event.

What can I bring into the event?
Better to ask what you CAN’T bring. Please do not bring:

  • chairs
  • coolers
  • outside food
  • outside beverages
  • pets (only service animals),
  • audio/video recording equipment

What’s the refund policy?
Sorry, there are no refunds. This is a rain or shine event and we always have a good time regardless!

Can I smoke at the Blues Fest?
We prefer that you do not, and we encourage you to be considerate of all those attending. There is currently no rule against smoking.

Can I leave and come back in?
If you are wrist-banded, you will be permitted to come back, assuming that there is room according to the Fire Marshal’s determination.

Will there be food and beverages for sale inside the Festival area?
Absolutely! We have a variety of food vendors. Beer, wine, water, and soft drinks will also be available for purchase.

What can I do before or after the Blues Fest performances?
